Somerset - weekend of 16th/17th September

This is Pick Barn and Little Pick Barn, where Selina has moved with her family. Her apartment is Little Pick Barn, and is above the stables and garage (although the horses are kept in a paddock not the stables)

The view from Pick Barn, and Selina's lounge room. Note the art works on the right hand side, I purchased one from here (my first purchase of art and her first sale) I will take a photo of it and add later

We went into the forest on the property on Sunday, and this is my version of Country meets city. I - the country girl- felt very city, especially in the local pub, where I was very obviously the one who had just stepped of the train from London!

A maze in a corn crop, which unfortunately we did not have time to go into

Saturday we went to Glastonbury and this is the Chalice Well water. High in iron (thus the orange stain) it is believed to have great healing powers, but is was also about 6 degrees, so our feet were frozen when standing in the water.

The source of the water from underground. It flows constantly. We drank some on the site and took some with us (you buy bottles to do this) and it was not until later we realised you are only supposed to put a few drops into water, but it sure did taste awful, hopefully the water will mask it!

This is in the heart of Glastonbury, all the crystal clusters and rocks laid into the cement and a little cave you walk thru. Saw my first ever psychic and she got a fair bit right!

Street Party Saturday 9th September

These are the photos from the party held in Baronsfield Road (my street)

All the families paid for tickets, which paid for the meet, beer, wine, entertainment, then the odd side of the street provided salads and nibbles, and the even, desserts

The Pavlova I made as our contribution, could really go a piece of it now!

The rest of the streets contributions

The winner of the childrens fancy dress competition (there is actually a nine year old boy in there!)

The street, at the beginning of the night

professor Frumbles, the children's entertainer

Tiff and a guy she worked with (I think) at her farewell party the same night as the street party. This being the reason I do not have a photo of the street and the end of the night. She has gone trekking around Europe for a few weeks before coming back here for a few weeks.

Tiff is the 'Chicken Fillets' girl I met on the Normandy trip. We have kept in contact and have become great friends. She is from Newcastle (Aust) and will be home whilst I am next year. She was the travel agent who booked my flight home, and has also booked the two of us (and her friend Anita) into one of the lounges in Heathrow for three hours before we fly out (she is going to South America, and Anita is going home to NZ - I think!?) We all fly out at about the same time, so the idea of three hours of free booze with some great gals as my last hoorah in London for a while sounded like a great idea!

Random catch-up photos

Ok, so here are a few of the random shots I have been meaning to add for a while now. They are in no particular order, and as I said, random insights into my life...

This is the view of London from Richmond Park. I am thinking if you click on the photo the enlarge version will show the London Eye (which of course I have not been on, but seen and driven past many times)

This is Mick Jaggers front yard, which Charlene and I decided to run through three times a few weeks ago after leaving the pub - as you do!

A really cool exhibition near Waterloo Station. As you sat on each box, a different instrument from the Philharmonic symphony Orchestra would start playing, from whatever piece the recording was up to!

Sam and Billy, enjoying a bevy at the Roebuck - the same night as the Mick Jagger's yard incident

This is Carl's 7th Birthday cake. Took me an hour to ice, and naturally the first thing Johannes did once I told him not to let anyone touch it.... he touched it!
Selina, Me and Mel at Heathrow to say goodbye to Selina before she flew home last week to attend a wedding in Australia
The Japanese lunch Charlene and Felix took me to in Piccadilly on Saturday. Obviously mine is the cooked food in the bottom of the photo
Wade - Aust, Jess - UK, Andrew - UK, Sonny - Aust, Charli - USA, and Anne - USA
Went for the Chinese buffet lunch (where they cook each dish fresh for you but still an all-you-can-eat deal!) which I have been promising Sonny I would make it to since this time last year. Well worth the effort. We the spent the rest of the afternoon with his flatmates (Wade, Jess and Anne) and a few of their friends, end we ended the night with some awesome Indian food. Sonny really does live in a great street!!!!!

Some general photos, trying to get you all up to speed from germany, and then we can move on to more recent times

This is the Qantas plane I saw when driving with Lynda

This is Johannes' pride and joy (which he bought for Lynda for one of her birthdays)

Lynda on the car looking for something for Christina, not long before we had to stop to help some people who were in an accident which we witnessed. No-one seriously hurt, but a lot of blood and broken glass. Think I might still have one piece in my hand, and my foot is still swollen from where one of the ladies trod on it!

Milweg 8, The Funke residence

The funny way the wine grapes are all grown on very steep hills, and some weird crop, which i could not work out, growing on trellises about 12 foot tall

The cool escelators they have for your luggage at all the main train station platforms!

A hens party tradition, your friends dress up, whilst you have to sell little candies to men and get then to sign your shirt

The Alte Oper (Opera House) where I took Max to see Stomp
